Zero Emission Commuter & Tourist Passenger Harbour Transport

A unique sustainable travel option in Cork city and harbour

Cork Harbour is the second largest enclosed navigable harbour in the world, second only to Sydney Harbour, Australia.

The harbour is a gem of maritime history and heritage, nestled in the south of Ireland, tucked away from the North Atlantic as a sheltered trading port & safe haven for mariners for hundreds of years.

Cork has always had very strong links to the sea, from the Haulbowline Naval Base, to the final immigration port for so many, dating right back to the famine times and before. It’s been the final departure to many discerning travelers down through the years and still is to this day.

However, the harbour and river are totally under-utilised in terms of access to the water. It’s true potential in modern times has never been realised.

The harbour regions have a great opportunity to develop even further, towards higher population areas all along the shores, from Crosshaven, Aghada, Cobh, Monkstown, Passage West, Blackrock and now the new Cork North & South Docklands and in time Tivoli Docks & Marino Point, along with developing greater access to the many attractions like Spike Island, Pairc Ui Chaoimh & Events Centre and Blackrock Castle Observatory.

Imagine gliding across the harbour on one of these stylish, zero-emission catamarans. Not only are they a sleek way to travel, but you can also feel good knowing you’re choosing a greener option. These aren’t your old, clunky ferries either; they’re fast, low-wash modern vessels designed for both commuters and tourists alike, ensuring a smooth and speedy journey without causing too much wake.

Accessibility is a big plus too, as these catamarans offer full disabled access, making travel easier for everyone. And with a capacity for up to 300 passengers and crew, there’s plenty of room for everyone to hop aboard. You’ll find yourself in a modern, light, and airy cabin space spread across twin decks, offering a comfortable and enjoyable ride, whatever the weather.

Fancy some fresh air and great views? Well, you’re in luck! There’s outside open deck space on both the lower and upper decks, perfect for soaking up the scenery and snapping some photos. And when you fancy a little something, you can pop along to the barista coffee shop and kiosk for some light refreshments.

For those bringing their gear, there are dedicated spaces for bicycles, e-bikes, luggage racks, and even electric and mobility scooters – super handy, right? Plus, you can stay connected on the go with free 4G WIFI and keep your devices charged with the onboard phone chargers. Tourists will especially appreciate the guided commentary delivered through personalised hearing pods, offering insights into the sights as you sail by. And for those who can’t bear to leave their furry friends behind, the open decks are pet-friendly, so your four-legged companions can enjoy the journey too!
